Foundation Course

  1. What are the courses offered?
    Foundation Course, Yoga Therapy Course, Mudra Yoga Course, Pranayama Course, Advanced Course, TTC, etc.

  2. What is the duration of the different Courses?
    The course duration varies from student to student ( minimum 1 week) at Yoga Darshanam.

  3. How many intakes are there in a year?
    The courses are ongoing.. Therefore, you may enroll at any time.

  4. How many students are accepted in each intake?
    There will be a maximum of 12 students in one class, and two teachers.

  5. Do I need to have a certain number of years of yoga practice to enroll?
    That is not necessary. This course is suitable for beginners, as well as intermediate practitioners, and those who are interested in Yoga.

  6. Is the Foundation Course a Pre-Requisite for the Yoga Darshanam TTC?
    No, for practitioners with less strong yoga practice. For beginners, it is recommended in order to be well-prepared for the intensity of the Teacher Training Course.

  7. What is covered in the Foundation Course?
    The general outline of the Foundation Course covers the different yoga techniques from different ashramas and universities.

  8. Will a Course Manual be provided for all the courses?
    Yes, a Course Manual will be provided.

  9. What is the daily schedule like?
    Depends on Course . Refer Couse Time Table or Contact through mail.

  10. How do I register and pay for the fees?
    Please complete the Online Application form, and email it to the Director of Yoga Darshanam at yogadarshanam@gmail.com. We will forward you instructions on fee remittance once your application has been confirmed.

  11. Is the Course taught in English?
    Yes.

  12. Will any Certification be given after completing the Course?
    Yes(not for all the courses)

  13. Will I be able to teach the studied course?
    Yes,only some courses you can teach and apply.

Teacher Training Course
  1. What is the duration of the Teacher Training Course?
    The Teacher Training Course (TTC) runs for a full 4 weeks. Classes will be given from Monday to Saturday. Sunday will be a rest day.
  2. How many intakes are there in a year? Yoga Darshanam offers 8 TTC intakes a year.
  3. When are the Course dates? The TTC Course is held usually in the month of February,March, May, June,July, september,November, December each year. For actual enrolment dates and deadlines, please email your enquiry to yogadarshanam@gmail.com or see Upcoming Events Page.
  4. How many students are accepted in each intake? Yoga Darshanam accepts limited students because of different yoga concepts and for personal attention.
  5. How do I qualify to enroll in the TTC? The TTC can be taken by any experienced yoga student having some yoga knowledge.
  6. Is the Foundation Course a Pre-Requisite for the Yoga Darshanam TTC?
    No, for practitioners with less strong yoga practice. For beginners, in order to be well-prepared for the intensity of the TTC.
  7. What is covered in the Teacher Training Course?
    The TTC is divided into 8 general sections, designed to meet the requirements of the Yoga Alliance International Yoga Educaton Standards.

    * Yoga Philosophy and Ethics Classes
    * Yoga Practical Classes
    * Seve yoga /Karma yoga Classes

  8. Is the Course taught in English?
    Yes.
  9. Will there be a written and practical exam at the end of the Course?
    Yes, you will be assessed in both written and teaching evaluation exams at the end of the Course. The assessment exams are structured to meet the standards of the Yoga Alliance Organisation.
  10. What accreditation will I receive after completing the TTC?
    Upon meeting the attendance and disciplinary requirements of the TTC and upon passing your written and teaching evaluation exams, you will receive the 200-Hour TTC certification recognised by Yoga Alliance from Yoga Darshanam.
  11. Will a Course Manual be provided?
    Yes, you will be provided with a Course Training Manual. You will also receive an optional list of additional/recommended reading titles, which you can purchase from the local bookstore in Mysore.
  12. What am I required to bring along for the Course?
    Apart from your own travel and daily necessities, please ensure that you bring along your own yoga mat, a notebook and some pens for the Course.
  13. How much is the Course Fee?
    At affordable fee. Please contact or write to us.
  14. How do I register and pay for the fees?
    Please complete the Online Application form, and email it to the Director of Yoga Darshanam at yogadarshanam@gmail.com. We will forward you instructions on fee remittance once your application has been confirmed.Half tuition Fee (payable in advance, in Indian Rupees) is required in order to secure your participation in the TTC. Remaining amount can be paid on the first day of reporting. Fees paid will not be refunded nor transferred under any circumstances.
  15. What if I don't want to become a yoga teacher after completing the TTC?
    There are always a small number of students who take the 200-hour TTC without the set goal of becoming a teacher. Their reasons for this approach include a sincere desire to go deeper in their personal practice and to gain real knowledge and experience of immersing in a yogic lifestyle, under the guidance and tutelage of a yoga master. Once you complete TTC you can practice without teacher and you can teach your family members, friends, etc. to create healthy world. Whatever your personal goals are, Yoga Darshanam always welcomes the open-hearted, sincere desire to learn the principles and philosophy of yoga, to achieve liberation.
  16. Where can I stay during the training?
    Every trainee is responsible for his or her own room and board and the expense for these arrangements fall outside the cost of tuition. There are many rooms and apartments for rent near the Yoga Darshanam shala. It is recommended to stay within 5-10 minutes' walk from the shala, as classes start very early in the morning. Yoga Darshanam may be contacted for accomodation in case of difficulty in finding one. We organise accomodation according to your budget.
  17. What are the meal options?
    As with accommodations, you are responsible for your meals. There are many wonderful vegetarian restaurants and catered home-cooked meals available in Gokulam, at very affordable prices. Alternatively, you can choose to cook your own meals if your landlord provides you with that option.
  18. What if I have to miss a few days or hours?
    Due to the intensive nature of the TTC, you are required to be available for the entire duration of your training. Punctuality is very important. On-site hours meet and surpass the Yoga Darshanam minimum standards and categories of training. In addition, we encourage you to lead a yogic lifestyle throughout your intensive course of study. It is not advisable to schedule other activities or take other part-time courses during the TTC. We have set aside this whole time to be with you and expect and want you to be 100% with us. Absence is discouraged. Yoga Darshanam only allows a maximum of 3-4 missed classes per month. After that, you will not be allowed to enter the premises.
